Get Ready For 'Furious 7' Overload
The screeching tires and ridiculously awesome action of Furious 7 left quite an impression on audiences not only as the seventh installment in the uber juggernaut known as the Fast and the Furious franchise, but as an emotional send-off to the late actor Paul Walker. It was a perfect combination of action and sentiment, and naturally, fans of the movies left theaters wondering when the movie would be available for streaming — specifically, when Furious 7 is coming to iTunes. Everyone was awaiting the moment when they could download the high-speed automobile blockbuster for their streaming pleasure, and finally, that moment has come: Furious 7 will be available on iTunes on Aug. 25 — and it's available for pre-order right now.
Fans will get to choose between a regular version of the movie and an extended cut, the latter of which will give you more bang for your buck. Both versions, though, will include deleted scenes, featurettes on how the making of the impossible action sequences, as well as interviews with the cast and director James Wan. It will definitely give you all the furious fodder you need until Furious 8 comes out in April 2017. Still, while it's certainly no two-year wait, Aug. 25 is over a month away. So to ease your wait until Furious 7 comes out on iTunes, check out these movies on iTunes that feature the members of the Fast and Furious family.
1. The Iron Giant (1999) With Vin Diesel
Diesel plays a gentle robotic giant in one of the best animated features of all time. Like his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Diesel's part in Giant shows that he's good at being a man of little words.
2. The Fast And The Furious (2001) With Paul Walker
Paul Walker starred in many movies, but will be remembered as the heart and soul of this franchise. Revisit the original and see how it all started.
3. Pain & Gain (2013) With Dwayne Johnson
The catalog of Dwayne Johnson movies is growing at a rapid rate and there are lots to choose from. But his character in Pain and Gain is one that gets overlooked... and it's the best part of that movie!
4. Girlfight (2000) With Michelle Rodriguez
Long before she exchanged blows with Ronda Rousey, Rodriguez was in this self-explanatory indie that not only certified her as an official badass chick, but a breakthrough movie star.
5. Baby Boy (2001) With Tyrese Gibson
After he caught everyone's attention as a model and the star of an unforgettable Coke commercial, Gibson went on to do music. He made his acting debut in this John Singleton drama alongside newcomer (at the time) Taraji P. Henson and Snoop Dogg.
6. RocknRolla (2008) With Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges
When the rapper-turned-actor popped up in Guy Ritchie's highly underrated RocknRolla, I was pleasantly surprised.
7. The Faculty (1998) With Jordana Brewster
Whether it was campy or seriously good, I loved every single horror movie that was released in the Scream era — and The Faculty was one of my all-time faves. It's kind of gross, but really cool, and it's Jordana Brewster like you never seen her before.
8. Crank (2006) With Jason Statham
Jason Statham is no stranger to fast-paced action movies — especially with Crank. It's the most crazy, drugged-up frenetic 88 minutes you'll ever watch.
9. The Conjuring (2013) Directed By James Wan
He caught our attention with Saw, but James Wan's biggest feat (before Furious 7, of course) was The Conjuring. One of the best horror movies of all time. Between you and me, I still sleep with the light on after I watch it.
These movies may not have all the elements of a high-speed Fast and Furious film, but they certainly make a great substitute while you wait for Furious 7 to show up in your download cue.
