Maybe Bethenny Didn't Have A Warm 'RHONY' Welcome

by Laura Rosenfeld

Gird your loins, cats and kittens. The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 reunion began Tuesday night, and already the ladies of the Big Apple are tearing each other a new one. The first victim: Luann de Lesseps, who Heather Thomson accused of wanting to take Bethenny Frankel down upon her return to RHONY this season.

Well, well, well. This is news. It's no surprise that Heather would call out Luann like this given their "Girl Code" drama this season, but what exactly did Luann have against Bethenny? Sure, during the first three seasons of RHONY, the two didn't always see eye to eye, but they were never really on awful terms. Luann and Bethenny didn't even really have any beef this season of RHONY. Hey, what's the big idea, you two?

When Andy Cohen asked how the Housewives reacted when they heard Bethenny was coming back to the show, everyone seemed to act like they were ecstatic about the news. But faster than you can say "Hollaaaaaa!" Heather was there to keep everyone honest. She called out Luann for making a nasty toast at a lunch that the two of them as well as Carole Radziwill and Ramona Singer attended in which she encouraged the ladies to take Bethenny down this season.

Yikes, Luann. It sounds like someone needs to take a swig of some Ramona pinot grigio right about now. Money can't buy you class, but it can apparently get you a vindictive attitude.

Of course, Luann said she didn't remember anything like this happening. Luann made enemies out of many of the Housewives during this season of RHONY, so I predict that we will be seeing much more of this defensive and loose-lipped attitude throughout the rest of the reunion.

Heather also said that Ramona seemed to be all for taking Bethenny down, too, but she may have just confused her constant hyperactive behavior with an affirmative response. Carole, bless her heart, owned up to the situation and said she also toasted to taking Bethenny down, but she didn't even know the Skinnygirl back then, so she's kind of forgiven, I guess?

The only person who's feelings really mattered in this situation, Bethenny, didn't really seem to care about the whole take down toast. Don't get me wrong. She totally believed Luann would do such a thing, but she just didn't really care that it happened.

Huh. OK. Well. What an anti-climactic ending for such a potentially explosive topic. But then again, all of the Housewives need their strength for the more heavy-duty arguing that's sure to come.
