All The Looks At The 2015 MTV VMA Red Carpet Were Bold, Beautiful, And Absolutely Bonkers
The Met Gala, the Oscars, the Grammys — they're all fabulous in their own right, but the fashion doesn't hold a candle to all the looks at the 2015 MTV VMA red carpet. I know it's a bold statement to make, but I stand by it. Sure, you might witness some of the most jaw-dropping designer gowns at the Ball or a gorgeous display of crystals and lace at the Academy awards, but you probably won't see Rose McGown in a dress made from what looked like black yarn there, or Lil Kim prance around in a purple pasty and jumpsuit. You just won't. To witness those kinds of "Omg"-worthy fashions, one tunes into the MTV Video Music Awards, because as much as they try to convince us that it's about the music, it's really about what they're all wearing. Let's be real, guys.
If that wasn't the case, they probably wouldn't have chosen Miley Cyrus to host this year's 2015 VMAs. All of us over here at Bustle are already anticipating not only what the controversial, fashion-forward artist is going to wear, but how many different outfits she's going to rock. My guess? 10.
Without further ado, let's "ooh" and "ahh" over the incredible looks from tonight's VMAs.
1. Vanessa Hudgens
Leave it to Vanessa Hudgens to always be on point with both her style and makeup.
2. Laura Marano
Glossy lips + inner eye highlighter = red carpet perfection.
3. Awkwafina, Carly Aquilino & Nessa Diab
Loving all of the fall fashion trends these ladies are rocking, from deep royal blue to deep V necklines.
4. Kelly Osbourne
If you ever need earring styling inspiration, you can always count on Kelly. Also, can we talk about how fierce her lavender locks are looking?
5. Rocsi Diaz
Just when you thought the cut of her dress was your favorite thing about her outfit...
You saw her shoes.
6. Brandi Cyrus
Supporting her sister in style. Love.
7. Walk The Moon
N'SYNC & the Backstreet Boys would be so proud of their matching suits.
8. Zuri Hall
Zuri holding on to summer in an off-the-shoulder white dress.
9. Tori Kelly
Tori Kelly's lace bodysuit paired with those high-waisted shorts is the perfect transitional summer-to-fall ensemble.
10. Jeannie Mai
You may not agree with her fashion sense, but you gotta give it to Jeannie Mai — she came to play.
11. Nick Jonas
All leather everything. Rawr.
12. Katie Stevens
Who says the VMAs can't be elegant and classy?
13. Jeremy Scott
All hail Jeremy Scott.
14. Rachel Smith
Well, that's one fabulous way to shine bright on the red carpet.
15. Taylor Swift & Her "Bad Blood" Gang
Two words: squad goals.
16. Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato, you are too cool for the summer. Swoon.
17. Frankie Grande
All that glitters is Frankie Grande's chest. And hair. And outfit.
18. Taylor Swift
This sparkly two-piece is definitely unexpected from Taylor, but I give her mad props for being bold.
19. Selena Gomez
Selena puts the S in sleek and sexy. For sure.
20. Cara Delevingne
Love the simplicity of Cara's silver star-studded black mini.
21. Mariska Hartigay
Werk it, gurl.
22. Hailee Steinfeld
Calling it now: this is my favorite look of the night.
23. Gigi Hadid
Just when you thought she couldn't look more like a golden goddess...
24. Amber Rose & Blac Chyna
It's like a fashionable lion knew exactly where to rip her dress to make her look super stylish. In other words, love.
26. Karlie Kloss
Karlie's look is a little more casual than expected, but I love that she rocked her flats proudly.
27. Miley Cyrus
Congratulations, Miley. You officially made MTV VMA history with this itsy bitsy shiny silver outfit.
Sexy as per usual, Miguel.
29. Austin Butler
We don't know who has the better hair in the relationship — Austin or Vanessa.
30. Baddie Winkle
I think Miley would be proud and also a little jealous of Baddie's bomb.com ensemble.
31. Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Best dressed couple of the night? With that fringe bottom and those shiny, sparkly pants, I think yes.
32. Rita Ora
It's like the red carpet, high fashion version of the ballerina Black Swan dress.
Kanye and Kim lookin' safari chic in olive and khaki.
34. Justin Bieber
Different hairstyle, same hair flip.
35. Nicki Minaj
Nicki wins best naked dress of the VMAs.
36. Britney Spears
It may not be "I'm A Slave 4 U" circa 2001, perfect, but it's pretty damn close. You're a dream, Brit Brit!
37. Rebel Wilson
Rebel channeling her inner Gwen Stefani with that pouf and those pink ends.
38. Kylie Jenner & Kourtney Kardashian
I'm sensing major '70s vibes with Kourtney's pink jumpsuit and Kylie's leggy mini. So fab.
39. Fifth Harmony
Fifth Harmony always in sync, even when it comes to their fashion choices.
40. Maria Mennounos
E! News' new host proves that black and navy look super chic together.
41. Kris Jenner
Go on with your bad self, Kris Jenner.
Keeping it casual in his signature snapback and sneaks.
43. FKA Twigs
She's the coolest chick at the VMAs. No contest.
44. Holland Roden
Who said all naked dresses had to be long, sheer gowns?
If you ever considered chopping your hair off and dying it aquamarine and blue, well, Halsey will definitely convince you.
46. Brooklyn Beckham
The torch has been passed. Brooklyn is arguably the most stylish Beckham.
47. Pharrell & Helen Lasichanh
It's like the more refined, more fashionable version of Justin and Britney's denim-on-denim look.
48. Charlotte McKinney
Although I feel like I've seen this dress a million times before, it looks new and exciting on Charlotte McKinney.
49. Bella Thorne & Gregg Sulkin
These former Disney stars are seriously all grown up, and super stylish at that.
50. Jillian Michaels
Jillian Michaels should ditch her sports bras and spandex more often.
51. Z LaLa
Well, that's one way to make a statement.
52. Gabourey Sidibe
The pink shade of Gabourey's dress is officially my new favorite color.
53. Patrick Stump & Pete Wentz
All black outfits might not be anything new for Patrick and Pete, but if it works, why try to change it?
54. Lily Aldridge
Stunning, as per usual, Lily.
