7 'Carol' Trailer Emotional Moments That Will Break Your Heart

If there is one thing that we learned from watching the first Carol trailer, it's that this movie is going to bring all of the feels. Set in the 1950s, the movie stars Cate Blanchett as a divorcee who falls in love with a married department store clerk, played by Rooney Mara. While the first preview gave me goosebumps with the range of emotion it captured, the new Carol trailer left me feeling a little broken-hearted.

This longer trailer explores more of the complications of the women's relationship. Given the time period and the complexity of their situation, it's not surprising that there's a whole lot of things going on in the trailer. At the core of the clips, however, is a sense of heartbreak, which is largely attributed to Blanchett and Rooney's palpable chemistry and the sadness in watching them be broken apart.

It's no surprise that both Blanchett and Rooney are garnering rave reviews for Carol. They're both such talented actresses and their ability to bring this moving story to life only underscores that.
