'BB17' Quotes That (Might) Prove Liztin Is In Love
To refer to Liztin as a polarizing couple is one of the biggest understatements in the history of reality television. Liz Nolan and Austin Matelson as a Big Brother 17 couple are a little too much, and they have hardly any fans. Going from a one-sided crush to a full-on relationship, was something us viewers never expected, yet here we are. I cannot help feeling like Liztin is a relationship of convenience in regard to playing the game and the boredom that comes with being isolated in the Big Brother house. But, maybe I'm wrong. Hopefully I'm wrong. When it comes down to it, I am always rooting for genuine love. So are Liz and Austin really in it for the long haul? Are they genuinely into each other? I cannot objectively answer that question, but there are some quotes that might prove that Liz & Austin's love could actually be for real.
It will definitely be interesting to see how Liz and Austin fair in the real world when they are not competing for prize money and there are plenty of other suitors to choose from, but I would like to think that there is actually something real between them. I know Austin is all in, but what about Liz? Let's look back at some of their most telling conversations on Big Brother 17. I'm going to do my best to interpret whatever they've said to equate to some kind of true love, but it's going to be tough to say the least.
1. Liz Trusts Austin Around Other Women
My initial thought was that Liz was clearly shading her own boyfriend and implying that he is somehow inferior to Clay, but if you want to be optimistic you can say that she fully trusts Austin in the jury house.
2. Liz Feels Bad About Austin's Eviction
Liz seems sad to be in the house without Austin and feels bad that he got blindsided on live television. She could also be making fun of Austin's surprise and lack of preparation in saying that she hopes she doesn't meet the same fate, but hopefully it's more the former.
3. Austin Says His Feelings For Liz Were Too Strong To Deny
On one hand, it's nice of Austin to talk about the magnitude of his feelings for Liz, but what about the part where he refers to their union as his "biggest regret in the game."
4. Austin Caters To Liz (Literally)
It's sweet that Austin is always cooking for Liz, but it can also seem like Liz is just taking advantage of Austin's generosity with the amount of times that she demanded snacks and meals from the dude.
5. Austin Says He Can't See Anyone Else When Liz Is Around
It's sweet that Austin thinks Liz is the most beautiful girl in the world (even with an identical twin), but did he need to add in that he was not "super attracted to Becky?" Was that necessary? Love should exist without having to compare it feelings for other people and cutting them down in the process.
6. Liz Doesn't Want To Betray Austin
She probably didn't need to mention that she wants to have a favorable public persona. It seems like she values other people's perception of her more than her actual boyfriend. Definitely a poor choice in wording there.
There's something to be said for seeing what you want to see. If you want to view Liztin as the real deal when it comes to their romantic relationship, there is plenty of evidence for that. If you don't believe in their love, then you can interpret the existing evidence to support your view. Only time will reveal how long Liz and Austin last as a couple.
