Planning a birthday party requires quite a bit of effort. From the guest list to the decorations, there's a lot to consider. But the most important part of any celebration? Cake, obviously. Over the weekend, two Hollywood moms proved they know what's up. On Saturday, Drew Barrymore and Reese Witherspoon both celebrated their kids' birthdays. Barrymore's daughter Olive turned three, as did Witherspoon's son Tennessee. While they had separate parties, these actresses have a lot in common, especially when it comes to the whole parenting thing. In the words of Mean Girls, they're not regular moms — they're cool moms. It's unsurprising, since Barrymore and Witherspoon are actually friends. Whether vacationing in Mexico together or attending one another's baby showers, they probably swap parenting tips all the time.
Thanks to the magical world of Instagram, we got to see pictures of the cake masterpieces. It's *almost* the same as being there in person, right? (Minus the fact that we didn't get to eat any of it...)
Drew Barrymore's daughter received a ridiculously cute tiger cake. The jungle animal looks like it's literally posing, just to wish Olive a happy birthday. In the caption, Barrymore wrote, "I just had no idea it would be the radest and most hilarious tiger cake on the planet." She also said that her daughters are her "whole universe," and that the three years with Olive are the best in her life. So sweet!
As for Reese Witherspoon, her son's cake was covered in trucks and M&Ms. She captioned the photo, "It's all about that cake🎂" She's right — what isn't about cake? Check it out:
In addition to showing off that glorious dessert, Witherspoon posted an adorable birthday photo of her son. She wrote, "Happy Birthday sweet boy! 3 is a magic number." Honestly, my heart can't handle that much cute.
I guess turning three-years-old was the big thing to do this weekend. Despite countless movie roles — Elle Woods and Josie Geller among their most memorable — it's obvious there's another job that Witherspoon and Barrymore take seriously. Yup, I'm talking about being moms.
