We May See Sawyer Fredericks Again On 'The Voice'
At the young age of just 16, Sawyer Fredericks managed become the youngest winner in The Voice's history, and he also won America over with his soulful voice and adorable face. After being invited by talent scouts to audition for the show based on his amazing YouTube performances, he sang a deep, soulful rendition an old folk song. Within seconds, he had all four of the judges turned around and basically salivating at his feet. Sawyer chose to take his journey with Pharrell Williams, which was a surprising choice (Pharrell was the newbie coach), but it paid off big time. So, now that the show is back on, fans are wondering whether Sawyer Fredericks will be on Season 9 of The Voice, if only just to charm us with his talent one last time.
During his impressive run on season 8 of The Voice, Sawyer acquired a legion of fans (#TeamSawyer) who loved his shy persona and amazing talent (not to mention, he has great hair). So, its not surprising that people want to see him on the stage again. Unfortunately so far there's no official word from The Voice execs or from extensive stalking of Sawyer's Twitter account (it's like a unicorn mixed with a rainbow in there, he's so happy and adorable all the time) on whether he'll be back. But, if past seasons of the show can be counted as evidence, it's safe to say that we may see those majestic tresses on The Voice stage again this season. Here's a look back on the pattern of previous seasons' winners coming back to perform the following season. Take from it what you will (aka he's totally coming back).
1. Javier Colon
The first ever winner of The Voice returned to perform "A Drop In The Ocean" on the second season during the semi-finals round. And, he set a precedent for winners after him returning as well.
2. Tessanne Chin
After winning Season 5 of The Voice, Tessanne came back to perform "Everything Reminds Me Of You" during the Top 5 results week.
3. & 4. Danielle Bradbery and Cassadee Pope
Bradbery won Season 4 and Pope won Season 3. Both ladies performed on Season 5 during the beginning auditions and during the semi-finals week. Pope also came back to perform on Season 4 for the Top 6 results show.
5. Jermaine Paul
Jermaine won Season 2 of The Voice and ended up returning to perform for Season 3 during the live playoff results.
6. Craig Wayne Boyd
Craig Wayne Boyd was the lucky winner of sSeason 7. He returned for Season 8 to perform "I'm Still Here" during the Top 6 results.
So, I don't know about you guys but I am banking on seeing Sawyer this season on The Voice.
