Sadly, it seems that reports of former NBA player Lamar Odom being found unconscious at Nevada brothel Love Ranch South, and rushed to a hospital on Tuesday afternoon have been confirmed: According to E! Online, Odom is in "critical" condition, and — though TMZ alleges that a sources at the brothel reported Odom "was taking an herbal substitute for Viagra" during his stay at the Ranch — it's not clear what exactly caused his current state. Per reports from PEOPLE, Odom's ex-wife Khloé Kardashian has been informed of Odom's current state and is reportedly rushing to be by his bedside — and, according to E! Online, she's reportedly "inconsolable" at the news. Unfortunately, this is another devastating twist in the couple's oft-tumultuous relationship: According to E! Online, Kardashian had been worried about Odom after reportedly cutting off contact this past summer. Which begs the question: What was their relationship like in recent months?
In short, it's been anything but simple. Though, according to the Huffington Post, Kardashian filed for divorce in December 2013, TMZ reported that they didn't actually finalize the dissolution of their marriage until July 2015 — nearly two years later. In the span of that time, though they weren't officially together, the couple was still in contact: This was documented at length on the Kardashian family's reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Though their conversations didn't always seem to go smoothly (in one 2013 episode before Kardashian officially filed for divorce, she appeared visibly distressed after his calls)
Post-divorce, however, things seem to be a different story: According to E! Online, Kardashian "cut off contact with Lamar in the summer," which is around the same time their divorce was officially finalized. It's not clear what prompted her to make this decision, but, as E! Online added, she's been worried about Odom.
There haven't been many other recent reports of contact between the couple, apart from a seemingly tense run-in outside of a SoulCycle location in Los Angeles: According to TMZ, "an eyewitness [reported] Lamar was demanding that she talk to him. She kept walking as he was screaming. At that point Lamar touched Khloe's arm and she screamed at him, 'Get off of me, get off of me. Stop. Stop.'" Kardashian then reportedly left the scene, and Odom later told TMZ cameras, "I am not, not, not the person that they're trying to make me out to be—whoever's doing it."
