When Will "Girls" Return For Season 5?

I can't even believe I'm saying this, but Girls returns for Season 5 on Sunday, Feb. 21, and I officially feel old. It seems like just yesterday, we were being introduced to Hannah Horvath, and the world was grappling with Lena Dunham's talent and breasts for the first time. And, now, all of a sudden, it's five years later, and I can't imagine a world where Dunham isn't already an acknowledged talent. Although we still haven't quite mastered letting her body be her body without near-constant commentary, unfortunately.

But, anyway, the show will return to HBO for its 10 episode season at 10 p.m. on that Sunday, running for its traditional half hour, just like always, and hopefully jam-packing a whole bunch of drama and angst and lessons and love in there. Especially because there's a possibility this is our second-to-last season; in an interview, Dunham revealed she will likely end Girls after Season 6.

But let's not think about that now, because it's too sad. Instead, let's send good energy toward all the ladies — Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna, and Jessa — that they get what they want this season, or at least learn things throughout the process if they can't. I'm mostly sending this energy toward you, Marnie... please, oh please, please don't actually marry Desi. I feel like you haven't gotten a fair shake at an actual relationship since Christopher Abbott left the show in 2013, taking his character Charlie with him.

So, that's what I'm personally crossing my fingers for this time around, or barring that, some ridiculous scenes of Shoshanna in Japan, because honestly how is that going to work, with her on a different continent? I guess we'll all see soon enough. Tune in with me on Feb. 21 to get all our questions answered.
