Pretending To Be Batman Will Get You In Trouble

by Lia Beck

One Direction member Liam Payne upset fans on Monday by standing on an unsafe ledge on his 34th floor apartment building. So I wanna know, when is he going to apologize? His actions were dangerous and irresponsible, but of course because he's a big teen heartthrob, he's exempt from everything and will never have to bring it up again. Wait, what? Liam Payne has apologized for standing on the rooftop ledge already? Well, well, well. Good for him. Bieber, we're still waiting. Those eggs aren't going to apologize (or give monetary compensation for damages) themselves.

The photo Payne has apologized for was posted online by one of his friends and has since been removed. After attending the birthday party of his fellow One Direction singer, Zayn Malik, Payne and a few friends returned to his home, reportedly drunk, and Payne proceeded to stand on an unguarded ledge. It looks a lot scarier than it sounds. Payne can be seen on only a small strip of concrete which it appears he had to jump to get onto.

Payne apologized via Twitter saying, "You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken ... It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous." While fans should of course know that standing on a dangerous ledge is not cool just because Liam Payne does it, well... One Direction has some pretty obsessive fans. These people might literally think that Liam is invincible and that by listening to his music enough they can become invincible as well. Look, I don't know what their fanatical brains come up with, but they're pretty out there sometimes so it could be anything. Also, Payne probably just shouldn't stand on ledges and post pictures of it online for his own good. It's definitely dangerous and the photo makes him look a little less than smart.

Ridiculously, now some fans are upset that he apologized.

@louminate: @Real_Liam_Payne bABY IT'S OK WE LOVE U NEVERTHELESS

@tarymalik: @Real_Liam_Payne don't apologise you've done nothing wrong you were just having fun babe

@standlikestyles: @Real_Liam_Payne we have our own minds, we shouldn't just repeat something bc you do it. If you had fun, dont say sorry for it babe ♥ xx

@_naillsgravity: @Real_Liam_Payne my cousin climbed the Sydney opera house when he was 5 so don't feel too bad

What? Make up your minds Directioners! Rooftop ledge standing or not!? You can't have it both ways! Also, while Payne is at it with the life lessons, he should maybe teach them to say "babe" less often.
