Lady Gaga Is 'Billboard' Woman Of The Year & Her Style Proves She's Worthy — PHOTOS
From creating social change to starring in American Horror Story, it's been a big year for this pop-star. To top off an already fantastic year of accomplishments, Lady Gaga is Billboard's Woman Of The Year. The singer says that she owes it all to truly being herself, which makes sense considering she is a true original.
Gaga has worn everything from a raw meat gown to matching menswear with Tony Bennett, and you never really know what the star will show up in next. She's truly so unique that even the most out-there ensembles work well on her, which is what makes her so fabulous. This year she's shocked her fans by dressing more normal than ever, but Gaga shares in her interview why her style and persona has been so much different than in the past.
“It speaks volumes to me that I’m being recognized as Woman of the Year in 2015,” Gaga tells Billboard. “This is the year I did what I wanted instead of trying to keep up with what I thought everyone else wanted from me.”
It makes complete sense! If this year's is all about the real Lady Gaga, then I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us. Flashy outfits are great, but the singer shows that sometimes being yourself is even more exciting.
Can we just talk about how gorgeous this cover is? She made yet another unconventional outfit look completely wearable, which is what she does best. Blonde — from hair to coat — looks great on her.
Because Gaga is so versatile with her style, it's hard to tell which of her outfits is best. Wearing everything from artistic ball gowns to stand-out pantsuits, here is a look back at some of her most stand-out ensembles of the year.
1. Bright Hues
She rocked this bright orange number to this year's British Fashion Awards. Not just anyone can pull off this shade from head-to-toe, but Gaga is no ordinary person.
She even had matching mesh gloves and a clutch to complete the look.
2. Simple & Sweet
Because when you're performing a tribute to The Sound of Music (and completely killing it, I might add), you don't need an over-the-top outfit.
There was a little dress flip for good measure, though.
3. Perfectly Patterned
There's no print that Gaga can't pull off, and she showed it with this busy gown at the National Art Awards.
It wouldn't be a Gaga gown without a little twist. She showed off her thigh-high slit when she posed for pictures.
4. Classic Red
The Countess showed up to the American Horror Story: Hotel premiere in a blood-red gown, which matched her on-screen persona perfectly.
Her smokey, winged liner really pulled the look together.
5. Artistic Silhouettes
As if this year's Emmys outfit wasn't enough, she sported this dramatic gown to the show's after-party.
The arms connected in the back for even more drama than the front.
6. Graphic Grunge
Gaga surprised her fans yet again by wearing a graphic tee under a striped pantsuit for her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The grunge-inspired style looks just as great as her ultra-feminine outfits.
7. Quirky Combinations
The Met Gala was just another opportunity for Gaga to show off her over-the-top sartorial proclivities. Her exaggerated robe matched perfectly with an all-black pantsuit underneath.
She lives for the applause, and she definitely got it.
I can't see what she has in store for us next year!
