Did Kim & Kanye Name Their Son After This College?

by Sienna Fantozzi

Though many of us were dead set on the idea that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West would go with a directional name for their new baby boy, the couple threw us for a complete loop when they revealed that they named their son Saint West. The choice is simultaneously bizarre and appropriate, but there might be another theory beyond the whole Yeezus connection: Kanye was rejected from Central Saint Martins College in London, according to InStyle, and he could be paying tribute to his dream school through his child. I know what you're probably thinking: There's no way, it's not like you'd go name your child Stanford or Vanderbilt after a rejection letter. But you also probably wouldn't have named your child North. Truth.

It was the designer's dream to study fashion at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College in the UK, but he was turned down because he was "too famous." In order to advance his fashion career, West had to teach himself. "So I basically had to learn my clothes through Style.com, through like Scott [Schuman] The Sartorialist, Tommy Ton, and dudes shopping," West told GQ.com.

Fashion is obviously a huge part of both Kim and Kanye's lives, and given that it was his dream to attend the noted fashion school, he could possibly be paying homage, and kind of pseudo-living out his dream through his son's name.

InStyle isn't alone in this theory:

We can also just go with the fact that it just pairs better with "Yeezus" than Easton would have. Whatever works.

Either way, one thing's for sure — Saint West is going to be #blessed.
