Adele Is Going To Dominate 2016
2015 brought us a lot of wonderful things in pop culture: Taylor Swift's world tour (and her assorted guests), the best One Direction album ever, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and yet another Kimye baby. But now, the year is ending, and it's time to look ahead to 2016, and that means predicting who the biggest celebrity will be in the year to come. Sorry, Swift. I know this has been your year, but it's time to let someone else have a turn. It's obvious that Adele will take over in 2016, and if my predictions are right, we (as a society) will still be obsessed with "Hello" this time next year — or at least still creating parodies of it on YouTube.
Maybe it's because Adele so recently came out of hiding — aka the time she took off to hang out with her kid and create a ridiculously good album — and knocked us off our feet with her new music and we're all just so glad to see her. Or maybe it's because she's just that talented. Either way, the next 365 days are going to be huge for her, and I can't wait to see what she does with all the power she'll undoubtedly find herself with.
Why will Adele be the celeb who dominates 2016? There are a few important reasons.
Her World Tour
I don't know if you tried to get tickets to Adele's tour, but it was basically The Hunger Games. In many cities, tickets sold out minutes after they went on sale, and that means two things: That this tour is going to be huge, and that tons of people are going... and talking about it... and hyping up Adele even further. And as for me? I will be in the bloodiest of nosebleed seats, screaming and crying right along everybody else.
She's Going To Win Every Award Possible
Adele is so poised for award season success that it's impossible to look at her without imagining a Grammy where her head should be. Of course after releasing a killer album like 25 she'll be picking up nominations left and right, especially when the 2017 Grammy noms are announced next winter. Get ready to watch her sweep those up!
She's Out From The British Hole She's Been Hiding In
Ever notice how when international celebs go back to their home country, we pretty much just don't see them for awhile? That's the thing Adele has been doing for the past couple of years, and I'm so glad she's back in the sunlight again. Now that she's going on tour, the evidence of Adele's existence should be much greater than it has been in the past... and hopefully, she'll have even more of a presence on social media as she continues to promote her album, too. Interviews. Magazine covers. The possibilities are endless!
She Will Be All Over The Radio
Singles. Music videos. Tons will be released over the next year during her tour. It's going to be a beautiful thing, especially if her future videos are even half as emotional as her sepia-toned "Hello" video was. Plus, "Hello" and "When We Were Young" have already been such massive successes that I can't wait to see what her next hit will be!
Adele, this year is all you, girl. Go get it!
