After the year that Sansa Stark had on the last season of Game of Thrones, it would have been such a relief to see the actor who brings the character to life looking ravishing (not to mention unburdened by her character's many misfortunes), but Sophie Turner skipped the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet. Unfortunately, viewers weren't treated to Turner's ethereal presence tonight, as the actress was MIA at the awards.
Though Turner wasn't nominated for her role as Sansa, Game of Thrones is up for Best Television Series - Drama. Her co-stars Emilia Clarke and Natalie Dormer were spotted looking fierce on the red carpet tonight, but Turner was nowhere to be found. It's a shame, too, because she has a long history of killing it at award shows
Back at the 2015 premiere of Game of Thrones, Turner told interviewers that the red carpet wasn't exactly her favorite. "The red carpet freaks me out!" Turner told InStyle . "There is this fear of everyone being like, who is this chick? I still feel awkward about it."
And while she might feel awkward, her history of fierce red carpet fashion certainly doesn't show it. Back at the 2015 Emmys, Turner wore a completely unexpected black trousers and blue corset ensemble, letting everyone know that Sansa Stark is truly a disco queen at heart.
However, my personal favorite Turner look was her choice for the 2015 SAG Awards, to which she wore a black cutout Osman dress, paired with an insanely hot pair of heart-adorned Louboutin sandals:
I mean, can we get a close up of those?
Because of her history of red carpet slayage, it was super sad that she wasn't there tonight. However, judging by her Twitter account, it looks like Sansa Stark is getting some much needed R&R in London:
Hopefully she'll get to see Game of Thrones take home a statue from across the pond.
