15 Shoes You Definitely Owned In The Early '00s

Oh the early ‘00s, when funny “futuristic” trends blended with the late ‘90s to create some weird, and weirdly glorious shoes. If you were as fashion obsessed as me in those years, you’ll definitely remember all these shoes you owned in the early ‘00s. Subtlety and minimalism were not exactly on trend yet, and everything was loud, boho, and seriously bright.

Sitting here in my simple black snow boots in a little Brooklyn coffee shop, I’m feeling super nostalgic for the days of rainbow colors and those super painful (but freaking adorable) jelly sandals. Was there really even any way to prevent getting blisters in those shoes?

You either owned these or had a knock-off pair, and you wore them with everything, from sweats to denim skirts.

So, so many straps, but so worth the effort.

3. Cowboy Boots

Your cowboy boots were definitely not the kind you'd want to wear around actual cows, because they probably also had Swarovski crystals and bright leather detailing, too.

4. Crocs

They really were just so comfy and came in literally every color your heart desired.

5. Slippers

So cute, but so hard to keep on.

Jellies should never, ever be forgotten.
