The Weeknd Might Be Short A Grammys Date

Forget about Saturday and Sunday — it looks like this Monday is going to be a big one for the Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye), who is up for seven Grammys, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B song, and more. With such an enormous night ahead of the 25-year-old — perhaps the biggest of his career so far, until the Oscars (where he's up for Best Original Song) — it would only make sense that girlfriend Bella Hadid, 19, would be in attendance. But she won't necessarily be there. While I'm sure Hadid would be the Weeknd's Grammys date if she could, the model is in Manhattan for New York Fashion Week, which overlaps with Music's Biggest Night. (Potential Justin Bieber date Hailey Baldwin is likely facing the same issue.)

While the Grammy Awards is the most important night in the music industry, it's safe to New York Fashion Week is pretty up there in terms of importance in the fashion industry — and for a model like Hadid, it's crucial that she be there. According to PopSugar, Bella and Gigi Hadid have already hit up their older half-sister's jewelry launch at NYFW, as well as the headline-making Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, according to the Daily Mail. Whether or not Bella Hadid walks this year — both she and Gigi modeled for Balmain during NYFW's 2015 spring show — New York Fashion Week is exactly where she needs to be, making connections, attending shows, showing her face, and just generally schmoozing it up. It's just as important that she attend NYFW as The Weeknd attend the Grammys, which would explain her absence if she doesn't make it

Still, that's just a plausible explanation as to why Bella Hadid wouldn't be at the Grammys this year. It's entirely possible that she could work out her schedule so she flies to L.A. in time to support her boyfriend and look fashion-forward AF on the red carpet (another positive for her career). Because despite reports that they were on a break in December, Hadid and The Weeknd's relationship is just as strong as ever — and possibly even stronger, with Hollywood Life reporting that the two might even move in together (take from that what you will, though).

Still, just judging from Hadid's Instagram — namely, this super cute photo of her boyfriend — the two are happy in love. Guess we'll just have to wait til Monday to see if Hadid will be at the Grammys!
