Lately, it sure seems like Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are one of the busiest couples in Hollywood. Between attending award shows and promoting Teigen's new cookbook, they're constantly on the go. Oh, and did I mention the Sports Illustrated model is pregnant with their first child? On Sunday, these expectant parents celebrated at a baby shower fit for royalty. (Literally, since they both wore matching bedazzled crowns.) After what looked like a busy day filled with gift-opening and eating cookies, the pair totally crashed. Teigen shared a photo of her and Legend, which pretty much sums up relationships today. Seriously, someone alert Aziz Ansari, because it might as well double as another cover for his Modern Romance book.
In the photo, the couple is laying on their couch with their laptops in front of them and one of their dogs by their side. When you think about it, it's a hilarious depiction of how much society tends to care about technology. I mean, everybody is guilty of it — myself included. Sometimes at the end of a long day, you just want to scroll through Facebook or Pinterest and not actually interact with another human being. But having someone doing the same thing right next to you makes it a little less lonely, right?
Instead of dressing up, they're completely casual. Legend in a robe, while Teigen simply is snuggled under a blanket. The thing is — they're so comfortable with each other and their fans that it doesn't matter what they're wearing. Everybody already knows they can look glam on the red carpet, so they don't have to prove anything to anyone. Plus, considering Baby Legend will be here before you know it, it's nice to see these two relaxing. With a newborn, they'll easily have their hands full and those lounging sessions will probably be hard to come by.
Another aspect of this photo I enjoy is the comments section, where multiple Instagram users raised the question: Who took this photo? Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe they trained one of their other bulldogs to operate an iPhone camera. Or perhaps Legend is incredibly talented (you know, besides his singing voice) and he's holding up a selfie stick with his feet. That could be why his facial expression looks like that — he is slightly smirking.
So, here's a valuable life tip: Next time someone tries to tell you that you can't have it all, show them Teigen's photo. They're proof that it's totally possible. With a loving relationship, solid wi-fi, and dogs, what more could a person need?
