Fitz & Simmons Got A Fresh Start On 'S.H.I.E.L.D.'

Could the FitzSimmons drama on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. finally be over? Probably not, but a gal can dream. Fitz and Simmons started over on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during Tuesday's midseason premiere, and while that's the best we can hope for, for now, it's promising. Don't even try to keep from singing High School Musical songs, guys.

Let's recap, shall we? Fitz and Simmons have been some kind of into each other since forever. They finally agreed to go on a date at the end of Season 2. Then, Jemma accidentally went to space, not so accidentally got a space boyfriend named Will, and came back. She and Fitz kissed, and subsequently freaked out that they were "cursed" by bad circumstances and timing. Fitz, on a secret space mission to rescue Will, found out that he had died, and then had to shoot him because an evil alien was possessing his mortal form. Fitz returned from space, but blames himself for Will's space death. So, suffice to say that these two do not have the most normal relationship.

At the end of Tuesday's episode, Jemma admitted that she missed Fitz. They agreed to start over and try to rebuild their relationship from the ground up. They shook hands, and the scene switched to Daisy and Lincoln kissing. Those lips were not the ones I wanted to see locking at that moment, but whatever. This is a good (second) start for FitzSimmons.

Also, look out for my new mixtape inspired by Fitz' description of the two of them when they first met — "sixteen and achingly shy." Perfect. It's so nice to see these two speaking and working again! Ever since Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced FitzSimmons as an inseparable pair, they've been doomed to be torn apart. I'm glad that they are steering themselves back together!
