It's no secret that Pretty Little Liars is full of shocking moments and insane reveals (don't even get me started on how creeped out I am a week after seeing Mary Drake in make-up that looked better-suited to The Walking Dead). But one of the most surprising things to happen on the show was when the Liars finally graduated high school and headed off to college in the Season 6A finale. I know Rosewood is a strange place, but I was always seriously confused about the fact that high school seemingly lasts for about six years there. I'm still getting used to the idea that the Liars are no longer in high school and have officially joined the workforce. (Of course, all that's on hold now that they have a new Big Bad after them.) But, before they entered the twisted town of Rosewood and spent an inordinate number of years in high school, the Pretty Little Liars cast members were a seriously adorable group of children.
On Tuesday morning, Shay Mitchell posted a cute and hilarious Instagram photo of her own idea for a Season 7 poster. Instead of the serious, chic young women we're used to seeing in photos and the opening credits, she replaced all their images with childhood photos — and the result was predictably adorable. (The show is called Pretty LITTLE Liars, after all.)

Don't these cute little faces make you want to take a walk down memory lane and look at some more old photos of the Liars & Co.? Me too! So, without further ado, let's take a look at what the Pretty Little Liars cast looked like before they began receiving all those menacing texts.
I've never seen Mitchell wear an outfit that was less than perfect but, uh, I'll take her word for it. Plus, that sleepy face is painfully relatable no matter how old you are.
Benson's first headshot proves that glamour comes naturally to her — it's no surprise that her character always had the most enviable wardrobe and ended up in the fashion industry.
Her dreams of becoming the next Dominique Moceanu may not have panned out, but I'd say this super successful actress-singer has done more than OK for herself.
Bellisario's first and forever love is eating french toast in bed — bonus points for the fact that she could not possibly look any cuter doing so.
Based on this adorable photo, I'm going to venture a guess that Pieterse enjoyed playing dress-up as a kid.
Long before she became the show's first villain, Parrish was a queen at rocking pigtails.
It's no surprise that Caleb was a precious child — but he had blonde hair? Mind = blown.
Just a boy and his dog.
Toby looked super serious, even as a wee one. Could that be A on the phone? Next up is Pretty Little Liars: The Prequel, in which the leads received threatening phone calls for yet another Big Bad. (I imagine the A game got so much easier once texting became a thing.)
I'm starting to think that Mitchell is really onto something with her idea for Season 7. I know the logistics would be a little complicated since they would involve time travel, but I really hope I. Marlene King looks into this.
