Negan Is Making Us Wait On 'The Walking Dead'

People say that the best answers in drama open the door to more questions, but sometimes a deluge of unknowns can be frustrating. After being teased with Glenn's death for over half a season, we have to wait for Season 7 to find out who Negan killed on The Walking Dead. Are you excited to start speculating, or exhausted that this waiting isn't over yet? Why do I have the feeling that this is going to be worst then Jon Snow. At least we only have to wait until October.

"We want you to be one of those people in that lineup," said Greg Nicotero during The Talking Dead. "We want you to feel that suspense and that terror and that pain and we're gonna deliver to you a story next season that justifies it."

So, Negan killed me? OK, I'll buy it. On the after show, Nicotero also talked about how the death — whoever it is — will shape Season 7 in how everyone reacts to it and moves on from that moment. That's not really a clue as to who it is, unfortunately. I don't think there is anybody in that group of 11 people that wouldn't affect the series somehow with their death. I don't want to choose favorites, but I think Carl, Daryl, Maggie, Michonne and Glenn may have connected with more people in the group than Sasha, Rosita, and Eugene. Abraham is kind of in the middle. Even the apocalypse is a popularity contest, sorry folks.

Nicotero also likened this moment to opening the hatch on Lost at the end of Season 1 and insisted that he likes generating water cooler conversation. While we talk ourselves in circles trying to figure this out and look at all the clues, he's going to be smiling away. At least the writers seem to know that they can't toy with our emotions like that and not deliver an epic conclusion when The Walking Dead returns. I just don't think my nerves can last that long, frankly!
