Wait, Where Was Zayn At The MTV Movie Awards?

Never fear, fans of one beloved celeb couple: although Zayn Malik wasn't at the MTV Movie Awards alongside girlfriend Gigi Hadid, that doesn't mean anything's wrong between the A-list pair. When the model showed up looking fierce (rocking feathered Bridget Bardot-esque bangs, a slimming pinstripe suit, and stiletto heels) at the show, which pre-taped Saturday night but airs Sunday, she also arrived arm candy-less. Many fans wondered where Malik was all night, as not only did he not arrive on the red carpet, but Hadid was seen spending the evening with BFF Kendall Jenner, rather than with her BF.

But just because Hadid decided to spend a night out on the town with her bestie and not her boyfriend doesn't mean she and Malik aren't still together, of course – it just means they are in a normal, healthy relationship. The duo aren't attached at the hip, and are willing to let each other do their own thing. Perhaps Malik was feeling a bit under the weather on Saturday, or was busy working on some new music — or may be he simply didn't want to attend. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter, because Hadid looked to have a great time at the awards alongside Jenner.

And either way, Hadid spent a great deal of her red carpet time gushing about her boyfriend. Speaking to E! about she and Malik's recent photo shoot for Vogue, Hadid said, "I wish I could be on set with him every day. It doesn't feel like work when he's there. It was really fun. We had the best time." Hadid also Snapchatted a picture of Malik snuggling with her puppy on Saturday, the day of the awards, captioning it "my loves," so chances are that the two were still together and perfectly happy that night. So regardless of where Malik was during the show, don't interpret his absence as a sign of romantic troubles — I'm sure he'll be back with Hadid sometime soon, and expect them to provide another #relationshipgoals image for which we all can be exceedingly jealous.
