Matt Czurchy Promises Closure In The 'Gilmore Girls' Revival, But What Kind Of Closure?

It seems like every day there is new news in the world about the Gilmore Girls revival, but this news is kind of big news, because Matt Czuchry (aka Logan) was interviewed at a Tribeca Film Festival Q&A, and he spilled all kinds of spoilers about the Gilmore Girls revival. And the best part is that his comments suggest some major closure in store for the revival. But does he mean romantic closure? From the sound of what he had to say about the revival, it seems like there might just be plenty of romantic closure for Lorelai and Rory.

At the festival, Czuchry spoke for the first time about the revival, revealing to the audience that “fans will love” the four-episode reboot. Or really, Czuchry? Why exactly would that be? Well, it turns out that, according to Czuchry, the revival episodes will finally “have that closure” that the final season of Gilmore Girls was missing. Of course, the final season was missing any real closure because the show was cancelled after the final episodes had been written. Had they known it would be the last fans would see of the Gilmore Girls for almost ten years, I’m sure things would have been tidied up a bit in the final season. But still, it sounds like these four episodes are going to do serious justice to the characters we fell in love with over a decade ago.

And, let’s be real, the real sense of closure we’re all dying for is really about Lorelai and Rory’s love lives. For a show that is predominantly about autonomy and being your own woman, the central storylines of Gilmore Girls revolved mostly around the two main characters and the men that they dated. Embroiled in some of the most memorable love triangles in television history, these two Girls have some serious questions to answer: Mainly who they will end up with out of the bevvy of men who have vied for their hearts.

From what Czuchry said, it sounds like fans will get just that. Whether those Gilmore Girls end up with an ex, a new lover, or blissfully by themselves, fans may be able to look forward to having all of their questions answered by this much-anticipated revival.
