Jaclyn Hill Shares Her Drugstore Makeup Faves

by Jessica Willingham

Who doesn't love Jaclyn Hill? The former MAC employee turned beauty guru has almost three million subscribers tuning into her makeup tutorials and product roundups on YouTube. While she can probably get her hands on plenty of Tom Ford lipstick, she loves a good deal too. Recently, Jaclyn Hill shared her favorite drugstore makeup so we can all start to hoard what she's deemed the best of the inexpensive best.

Personally, I love drugstore makeup. The gap between high end beauty product quality and the drugstore has closed significantly in the past few years, and now some of the drugstore items far surpass their department store dupes IMO. Like every true artist, Hill knows you can create killer looks with talent and creativity — product is just a small leg up. With these products, you won't be paying extra for a serious advantage.

Some of these products are staple items in my own collection, and worth every penny. From dewy foundations to universal blushes, this roundup has something for everyone and every budget. Most products can be found at your local CVS, Walgreens, or Wal-Mart and are restocked frequently, unlike the craze that comes with high end department store brand product launches.

Check out Hill's drugstore collection and why she loves each product as much as their high end alternatives. Your wallet will thank you!

1. L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer

Loreal Magic Lumi Primer, $10, Amazon

This lightweight primer is great for dry or aging skin.

2. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation, $13, Walgrens

This foundation comes in two formulas: matte and lumi. Both get rave reviews by Hill.

3. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation

L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation, $13, Amazon

This is one of my all-time favorite foundations as well — it's lightweight, full coverage and dewy as can be.

4. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, $5, Amazon

This is a creamy alternative to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

5. Jane Bronzer

Jane Bronzer, $10, Kohls

This is a medium-toned bronzer without glitter or shimmer, so if you're extra fair you can use it as a contour.

6. Milani 'Luminoso' Blush

Milani 'Luminoso' Blush, $9, Walgreens

This cult-favorite blush is neutral toned, so everyone looks great with it dusted on the apples of the cheeks!

7. NYX Blushes

NYX Blushes, $2.50 each, NYX Cosmetics

Creamy, high pigmented blushes for less than $3 is like hitting the beauty lottery.

8. ELF Blush Palette

ELF Blush Palette, $6, Amazon

This palette comes in light and dark shades, so you can pop out the removable blushes and mix and match the colors.

9. Maybelline Gel Liner

Maybelline Gel Liner, $8, Amazon

Hill calls this the best gel liner of all time. Sold.

10. L'Oreal Carbon Black Mascara

L'Oreal Carbon Black Mascara, $8, Walgreens

Even Kim Kardashian's makeup artist has copped to using this on his high end clients. It has a fluffy fiber brush, so you get tons of volume.

11. Rimmel Lash Accelerator

Rimmel Lash Accelerator, $9, Walgreens

This tiny, tapered wand is perfect for lower lashes and the furthest inner and outer corner of your lashes where it's hard to get product on without making a mess.

12. L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow, $9, Walgreens

These shadows are reminiscent of Makeup Geek's foiled shadows, but for much cheaper.

13. NYX Butter Gloss

NYX Butter Gloss, $5, NYX Cosmetics

I cannot live without this gloss. It's light weight and liquid-y, so it doesn't get tacky.

14. Maybelline Color Elixers

Maybelline Color Elixirs, $5, Walgreens

These are much like YSL's high end stains, but glossier and easier to wear.

15. Maybelline Lipsticks

Maybelline Lipsticks, $7, Walgreens

Possibly the best formulated and most diverse lipstick at the drugstore, these come in sheens, mattes, and every color of the rainbow.

16. Milani Lipstick in Nude Creme

Milani Lipstick in Nude Creme, $6, Walgreens

Hill can't resits a nude lip, and neither can I.
