Will Calvin Harris Attend The Met Gala?

You know who looks pretty damn debonair in a suit? A certain Scottish DJ who goes by the name of Calvin Harris. And I feel like we don't get the opportunity to see him all dressed up enough, which is why I'm hoping that's going to change soon. You see, Taylor Swift is co-hosting the 2016 Met Gala, which has me wondering if Calvin Harris is going to the Met Gala this year. You'd think T. Swift's boyfriend would want to tag along as moral support on a such a special night for her, right?

Well, since I haven't personally seen a formal RSVP from the DJ, I'm going to have to do the research myself. It's too bad I'm aren't on the Met Gala's Facebook group invite. At least then I'd know if he checked off "maybe" or if he wrote a quippy little note in the comments section.

But let's work with what we do have here. It appears that we can't go by his previous attendance as an indicator, because Harris hasn't ever attended a Met Gala. But there's a first time for everything. And, as I mentioned, there's an extra incentive for him to attend the one on the night of May 2.

Without any concrete notice of Harris' status when it comes to the Met Gala, let's take a look at his behavior with other recent award shows that Swift has attended. For instance, while they still have yet to take a red carpet picture together (you're killing us, guys) they went to the Billboard Music Awards with one another and sat together in 2015.

And even though he didn't go to the Grammys, Harris made sure he was with Swift for the latter part of the night at the after parties.

What does this mean? Well, it means that I assume Harris will definitely be at the Met Gala in some capacity, even if they just meet up at an after party. But personally, I'm thinking this might be the time they go full on public with their romance and give us that elusive red carpet picture. I honestly couldn't imagine a better place to have your first official couple-in-the-spotlight photos taken what with the grandiose outfits and venue. Plus, the timing just feels right.
