Even The WHCD Couldn't Escape This Trend

by Augusta Statz

Some trends are just too big to not find their way to the red carpet. I mean, The Fat Jewish did totally wear a denim jacket to a glamorous affair, after all. But, he’s not the only one who went trendy. In fact, four women rocked the choker trend at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and not in a dress-down kind of way, either. Oh no, these super popular accessories can be fit for a formal occasion, too. Don’t believe me? I’ll let these ladies prove it to you!

None other than Kendall Jenner, Rachel McAdams, Ilana Glazer, and Candace Cameron-Bure all sported a simple, yet statement-making choker necklace on the red carpet. And that’s quite the roster of fashionable women, if you ask me. So, if you needed convincing that this accessory just as high-fashion as it was festival-worthy, you now have it.

Jenner and Glazer were especially ‘90s with their looks, so topping their ensembles off with this kind of necklace just made sense. Jenner rocked a very throwback kind of hairstyle, letting wisps of hair hang down by her face, while Glazer paired her choker with a slip dress. ‘90s much? You bet! McAdams and Cameron-Bure, on the other hand, proved that this type of necklace goes well with a strapless, formal gown, whether you’re going for a throwback vibe or no.

Each style was different, but all on-trend at the same time. Let’s see just how versatile these accessories can be, shall we?

This gave her very classy gown an even more youthful feel. Not to mention, it went perfectly with the rest of her styling.

Who knew choker-style necklaces could look so incredibly chic?

This necklace perfectly completes the edgy, yet sophisticated thing she's got going on.

Chokers and a simple A-line dress will forever be the best combo, 1990s or no.

It'd be pretty hard not to jump on the choker bandwagon now!
