Kylie Slayed In Balmain At The Met Gala

by Marc Cuenco

Her sisters have already made their mark on fashion's biggest night, but Kylie Jenner made her Met Gala debut tonight and looked every bit as fierce — if not more — as her sibs Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner did at their first Met appearance. The youngest Jenner wore a beaded silver Balmain gown with full sleeves and a fringed skirt. It had a hint of romance and edge that designer Olivier Rousteing is known for, but also something that's completely within Jenner's fashion aesthetic.

This year's Met Gala theme, "Manus x Machina" was all about fashion in the digital age. For most attendees, including 2016 Met Gala co-chair Taylor Swift, stuck to a very futuristic aesthetic. As the celebrities walked up the stairs to the Met, the audience (meaning all of us who weren't lucky enough to be invited) witnessed a parade of metallic fabrics and elaborately constructed couture. While Jenner didn't exactly re-write or break fashion rules on this night, she stuck to a look that she's comfortable in.

For fashion's biggest night, Jenner styled her hair in a simple black bob, but looked elegant nonetheless. She accessorized with a stunning pair of Lorraine Schwartz stud earrings and strappy sandals that matched her silver dress. And that lip color? I have a feeling it's one of the Kylie Lip Kit shades also making its Met Gala debut.

Jenner's finally made her Met Gala debut, folks. I'm guessing that we'll see more exciting outfits from this young fashionista at future Met Galas.
