Kim Kardashian Isn't Nontouring BECAUSE Of Kanye

When recently speaking at Vogue Festival with makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and British Vogue's Fiona Golfar, Kim Kardashian announced that she's over contouring, to which the whole world pretty much put up a "wait a minute" finger while absorbing the news. The queen of the contour is moving onto different looks that are all about that "nontouring," which involve a more natural, fresh-faced visage. While the decision to leave her iconic beauty brand behind seems to be based on a medley of factors (like feeling stale and being ready for a lighter look and easier routine), part of the reason is also her husband.

According to Vogue, Kardashian shared during the festival, "I think right now it's more about nontouring, like real skin with less make-up on it. I'm trying to wear less... and my husband loves me without make-up." But although Kanye West might think that Kardashian is just as beautiful bare-faced as she is glammed up, that doesn't mean she's saying goodbye to the contouring palettes because of his suggestion.

Of course, hearing from a person you love that you look amazing without so much as a lick of mascara on might help foster a new sense of self-confidence and self-love within you, and that's OK. We're all entitled to our aesthetic preferences, and having humans sincerely compliment our choices or different takes on beauty is usually a positive thing. But it wouldn't be fair to say that Kardashian changed up her beauty routine just for her beau.

Instead, it seems like she was simply ready to try something new. The contour look might have felt dated or overdone for her, so she switched gears. After all, she called her new routine "nontouring," which couldn't distance her from her old look any more.

Vogue reported her telling the audience, "Now when I travel I just bring a small make-up case, and I'm content with that. I'm really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer."

On top of that, Kardashian might have also fallen into a more natural look because she has embraced her body and her aesthetic. It's no secret that she loves her curves and shares them on Instagram frequently, but she also told Vogue that she's more easygoing about walking around sans makeup on a day-to-day basis. "For my first baby I gave birth in full make-up, but none for my second," she said.

None of this means she'll leave the contouring completely behind, though. Jezebel reported that during the panel, Kardashian confirmed, "I love contouring and I don't think I'd stop contouring my nose — I know people think I've had a nose job but it really is just make-up!"

So whether West loves his wife bare-faced or not, what matters in the end is what Kimmy K likes the most. And what she likes the most is apparently some nose contouring with a side of simple strobing.
