At the Oscars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Prove They're As Happy and Gorgeous As Ever
With so much attention focused on ingenues like Lupita Nyong'o and Jennifer Lawrence throughout this awards season, it has been easy to overlook some of Hollywood's other big stars — that is, until Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decide to come into the picture. When the duo chose to make a rare red carpet appearance at the Oscars on Sunday night, they wasted no time reminding the rest of the world why they're the classiest, suavest, and all around coolest couple in Hollywood, and they happened to look pretty good while doing it, too.
Although we didn't get to see much of either Pitt or Jolie throughout the ceremony — the couple, perhaps understandably, chose to skip any interviews on the red carpet pre-show — the moments we did have with them immediately became some of the night's best. Take a look back at Pitt and Jolie's experience at the Oscars:
Walking In, Looking Amazing
It was a shock to see Jolie wearing a color other than black, and a dress that's sheer, too?! Once we got over the initial surprise, the combination of Pitt's tux with Jolie's stunning gown started to kick in. We had one reaction: perfect couple is perfect.
Cheering On Lupita Nyong'o
There to support the Pitt-produced film 12 Years a Slave, Pitt and Jolie had some of the biggest smiles in the audience when Slave star Lupita Nyong'o picked up an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. As Nyong'o walked to the stage, the duo looked like proud parents, contributing loudly to the deafening audience cheers.
Joining in Ellen's Super-Sized Selfie
Host Ellen DeGeneres' star-studded selfie was one of the highlights of the night, thanks in large part to Pitt and Jolie's game participation. Posing in the back of the group, the couple made the already-amazing photo that much cooler.
Pitt presented his category alone, while Jolie was joined for hers by Sidney Poitier, but both times, they managed to command the spotlight, even without a meme-inspiring leg thrust.
Pizza at the Oscars? Why not! When DeGeneres had a couple of pies delivered to the Dolby Theatre, several stars reached for slices, but only one of them, Pitt, got up to help with the actual serving process. With DeGeneres' encouragement, he handed out napkins to the stars, even handing a pile of paper plates to an amused Jolie. The couple who eats pizza at the Oscars stays together... right?
When footage of Jolie's recent honor for her humanitarian work was shown on-screen, the camera naturally went to show the star's reactions — and captured Pitt sweetly kissing Jolie on the forehead. It was an adorable moment, and for those of us who need the reassurance every once in awhile, it was proof that Hollywood's golden couple is doing just fine.
