Is There Caffeine In The Starbucks Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato? This Summer Drink Will Give You The Kick You Need
When it comes to the hot summer months, there's only one thing I crave to cool me off and pep me up: A cold, refreshing, and highly caffeinated beverage. That's where Starbucks comes in — and concerning that last point, there's good news for those wondering whether the Starbucks Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato has caffeine: It does. I mean, it's an espresso drink, so the caffeine content is perhaps unsurprising... but still. Caffeine lovers gotta caffeinate, right?
Starting tomorrow, July 12, the Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato will be available at Starbucks locations across the United States and Canada — and if you're a Starbucks Rewards Member, you'll actually be able to order this drink as of today, July 11. If you're not, though, fear not; the drink will be around for the rest of the summer, adding to the bevy of exciting ways to keep yourself going when you hit that mid-afternoon slump during the warmer months.
The Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato is part of Starbucks Cold Bar menu of iced coffee and espresso drinks, but offers a few special twists in flavor that will make it stand apart from your regular iced beverage rotation. How come? The Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato is the first that features Starbucks' Single Origin Sumatran Coconut Milk. I mean, yes, you can get coconut milk in just about every other beverage Starbucks offers — but this one was made with coconut milk in mind, and that's huge. As a vegan, I don't consume dairy products, so I'm particularly excited by this menu addition; even if you aren't vegan, though, having a dairy-free options can be super important for a variety of reasons ranging from health to taste.
But of course, of a caffeine enthusiast like me, the only thing more exciting than having a beverage specifically made of coconut milk is having a beverage specifically made of coconut milk that also has a kick of espresso — and this one certainly doesn't disappoint. According to Starbucks, a Grande Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato contains about 150 mg of caffeine, which sounds pretty perfect to me.
What is in the Iced Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato, aside from coconut milk and espresso? White chocolate mocha sauce adds a touch of sweetness, while a drizzle of caramel sauce and a swirl of mocha sauce finishes the whole thing off. In my opinion, this iced drink is the perfect balance between decadent and invigorating — and absolutely perfect for summer.
At this point, you're probably wondering how much the Iced Coconut Milk Macchiato cost. While the price varies based on the market (as is true for most Starbucks drinks), a Grande Iced Coconut Milk Macchiato ranges between $4.95 and $5.25. Happy summer, everyone!
