We've all been there. You just got a blow out, but you're on day three, and you just don't want to give it up yet. That's when a dependence on dry shampoo emerges. However, the one thing celeb hair stylists want you to know about dry shampoo may make you finally put that bottle of your favorite life-saving hair product down. Suave Professionals celebrity hairstylist Jenny Cho is clueing Bustle in on why dry shampoo isn't necessarily the miracle product we'd all like to make it out to be.
Dry shampoo has long been placed onto a hair care pedestal for lazy girls and girls who get regular blow outs alike. Not only can it extend the life of your hair style, but they can add texture and volume to otherwise lackluster hair. However, according to Cho, the product you love could actually be damaging those precious locks you want to protect and preserve so badly.
According to Cho, dry shampoo may seem like a quick fix but causes damage in the long run. Speaking of women who depend on dry shampoo, Cho explains, "I think about their follicles — it’s trapping their hair. There’s so much dirt in there. They’re going to have to use a weekly clarifying shampoo to get rid of that. Sometimes you could clog your pores and have less hair. There’s things that people don’t realize."

If you're looking to keep your hair healthy, it's about more than avoiding that daily wash or protecting your blow out. Several factors go into your hair health. Cho states that she's always getting asked about how to make their hair thicker, and it all goes back to foundations.

The foundations of healthy hair are varied according to Cho, but they add up to give you the best overall hair as possible. Cho says, "Hair is a combination of your haircut, the right conditioner and shampoo, the right layering of products — you can’t just have one magical product, or one magical trick, because if you don’t have the right foundations, it doesn’t work."
While many would love to call dry shampoo a "magical product," they need to consider everything including the one thing celebrity hair stylists want you to know about dry shampoo. That one thing essentially boils down to overuse of dry shampoo being bad for your health and counteracting all of the positive things you may be doing for your tresses. So, while dry shampoo can be great, it's not a miracle worker, and if you're looking for craft perfect locks, take Cho's advice and get your foundations right.
