There Was A Mini 'Harry Potter' Reunion

by Emily Lackey

I hope you don’t have any plans this weekend, because the most adorable Harry Potter reunion happened on Thursday night, and it’s going to make you want to marathon watch the entire film franchise all over again. I couldn’t help myself when I saw the photo of Daniel Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright reunited at an off-Broadway play that Radcliffe is currently starring in. The former cast mates played each other’s love interests in the Harry Potter movies, and seeing them together again gives me all kinds of butterflies. I mean, is it wrong that, after seeing this picture, all I want to do is curl up on the couch and watch these two lovebirds come to find each other again?

To be clear: The two are not dating in real life, but the love story of the characters they played in the Harry Potter films is definitely one for the ages. Unlike Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger’s explosive and something tempestuous friendship-turned-romance, Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley were more like a slow burn that no one saw coming. Well, no one except the seriously devout Harry Potter fans. (I’ll admit it: I was not one of them.)

But it doesn’t mean that I loved them together any less. And seeing them together makes me want to relive their love story over and over again, all weekend long. If I were really ambitious, I would reread the books from the beginning, but let’s be real. Nobody has time for that in a single weekend. Plus, those books are heavy. How would I be able to doublefist my butter beer at the same time?

The two were joined backstage by the director of the first two Harry Potter films, Chris Columbus, so this was definitely more than just a coincidence. It was a full-on Harry Potter reunion, and I’m just glad someone was there to take a picture so that we could all experience this moment with them. So let’s raise a glass of butter beer to this amazing Harry Potter reunion and all cross our fingers that there is another one soon.
