Dream Has Released A New Single

by Kristie Rohwedder

Thank the cherry lip gloss-covered stars above, our favorite girl group to catapult to the top of the charts with a jam that tips its white fedora to a chant that's associated with flower petals has released some new music. If you followed that mess of a long-winded sentence, well done. And if not, don’t worry, here’s the straightforward translation: '00s pop outfit Dream dropped a single. On Friday, PAPER premiered Dream’s new song “I Believe," the group’s first single since 2003 track “Crazy." Lemme cut right to the chase: The mid-tempo ballad harks back to turn-of-the-millennium pop in the best way, and I recommend that you put it in your ears immediately. (You can listen to it here.)

Holly Blake-Arnstein, Ashley Poole, Melissa Schuman, and Diana Ortiz's recent trip to the recording studio didn't come out of left field: Earlier this year, the quartet revealed that they had new music coming down the pike. 2016 has been a major comeback year for the “He Loves U Not” singers: In addition to releasing a fresh tune for the first time in over a decade, Dream is also on The MY2K Tour alongside other early aughts fixtures 98 Degrees, O-Town, and Ryan Cabrera.

But wait, there’s more! In their interview with PAPER, Dream said there will be another new song headed fans’ way. Here’s what Schuman told the magazine:

We're actually releasing a new single that we wrote called "I Have A Dream." We're debuting it on the MY2K tour. Beyond that, we're in the studio recording new music. We're going to be releasing things beyond "I Have A Dream." Lots of good things to come.

Good things to come, good pop music to listen to, and good music videos to revisit:

My kingdom for such a resplendent white fedora.

Wow. The Curlz logo is timeless. Timeless and, dare I say it, a dream.
