Kardashian Robbers May Have Posed As Paparazzi

by Caitlin Flynn

As more details continue to emerge about the Kim Kardashian robbery in Paris, one of the main questions on people's minds is how the masked robbers were able to enter Kardashian's apartment in the first place. As one of the most recognizable celebrities in the world, she travels with security guards and should have been safe inside a well-secured apartment. A troubling new report speculates that the robbery was an inside job because she'd been surrounded by bodyguards and friends for most of the night. Kardashian was alone for a short time frame (her bodyguard accompanied Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner to a club), so it does seem possible that the robbers were tipped off about the right moment to enter the building. And another disturbing report from People suggests that Kardashian's attackers posed as paparazzi and may have been following the star for days.

The outlet states that multiple sources have confirmed that "authorities in France believe she may have been under surveillance in the days leading up to the attack." As someone who is surrounded and followed by paparazzi every time she steps outside, Kardashian would have had no reason to believe anything was out of the ordinary if this was the case. Alternatively, security expert Christopher Hagon speculated to People that a member of the paparazzi could have sold information about Kardashian's whereabouts and daily routine to her attackers, who remain at large.

Hagon, who is a managing partner at the international security consulting firm Incident Management Group, added that the robbery was most likely either an inside job or the result of days of surveillance — he believes it's a combination of the two. These sound like viable theories — but regardless of the circumstances, let's hope that Paris authorities are able to arrest the men responsible as soon as possible.
