Kourtney Kardashian Supports Kim After Robbery

by Taylor Ferber

Kourtney Kardashian is the first of the Kardashian-Jenner family to break her silence after her sister Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on Monday. Reports have surfaced that Kim has reportedly felt extremely (and understandably) shaken up after the incident, which, according to reports, occurred around 2:25 a.m. RST Monday at Hôtel de Pourtalès. According to PEOPLE, the 35-year-old star is reportedly even "blaming herself" for the incident. Between Kim's husband Kanye West suddenly cutting a performance in New York City short upon hearing about the robbery and the Kardashian sisters remaining silent on social media, it seems the event has had a profound effect on those surrounding the reality TV star. On Wednesday, though, Kourtney broke the silence, and took to Twitter to remind everyone that joy can be found in the most unfortunate of circumstances.

The reported details surrounding the incident are devastating. According to TMZ sources, "They [the thieves] zip tied her hands with plastic handcuffs and duct taped her to make it more secure. We're told one of the men grabbed her by the ankles ... Kim told cops at that point she believed she was about to be raped." The sources claimed, "The robbers duct taped her ankles, picked her up, and put her in the bathtub. She then started screaming ... begging them not to kill her because she had babies. She went on to say she had money and they could take whatever they wanted." (Bustle has reached out to both Kim's rep, as well as the Paris Police Prefecture — both had no comment.) Kourtney was reportedly with their sister Kendall Jenner at a club, along with Kim's bodyguard Pascal Duvier at the time of the robbery. Now, Kourtney's here to remind her sister how to remain hopeful with a prayer verse.

The verse explains that happiness should not be dependent on social status or career — but state of mind. It also encourages people to avoid getting discouraged or writing a day off just because it has challenges and difficulties. Hopefully, Kim is listening:

Aside from Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie Jenner have been the only ones in the immediate family to post to social media since Monday — however, both posts are unrelated to the robbery. Kim has yet to return to social media or make an official statement, but hopefully, Kourtney's post will help her to recover from the horrific incident, especially since she has such great support.
