Not that long ago, I finally came to terms with the fact that my favorite celebrity couples aren't likely to adopt me, no matter how hard my 29-year old self wishes it — so I've given all my willpower over to hoping that they'll collaborate. I got Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard on those Samsung commercials — yes, that was me — and now I'm almost positive I'm also responsible for Anna Faris and Chris Pratt's upcoming collaboration on Mom. So now that we know that you have me to thank for all this, let's talk turkey — when will Chris Pratt's episode of Mom air? Unfortunately, we don't know anything specific yet (although I'll get my mental powers of persuasion on it right away) as far as days or even months, just the more vague "early 2017."
What we do know is that Pratt will play a love interest for Faris' character Christy Plunkett, but one that she shouldn't necessarily pursue. According to Vulture , Pratt will play Nick, a horseback-riding instructor who is "off-limits," whatever that might mean. Sounds like maybe he's in a relationship, or not interested in women, or has some connection to someone else in Christy's life, but that she goes after him anyway. How intriguing! And another thing we know is that this collaboration between the real-life couple has been a long time coming. As far back as 2014, Faris told Entertainment Tonight that she was eager for the chance to work with Pratt on Mom:
"Oh my god, I would love it so much. I know that he would love it because we're both hams, we're actors. But the multicam format really lends itself just to that element of performing live is so thrilling. So I'm going to get him."
And it may have taken a minute, but get him she did, and the rest of us get to reap the benefits of it, sometime around the beginning of 2017. Not too long to wait, given that we've already been patient for two whole years while they ironed out the details. Either way, it will be a delightful pairing, and I can't wait to see what this adorable couple does with it.
