What's Up With J. Law & Darren Aronofsky?

In October, reports began surfacing about the supposed coupling of actor Jennifer Lawrence and director/producer Darren Aronofsky. Neither party has confirmed or denied whether or not they are romantically involved, so let's do some investigating. Are Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky dating? As it goes with most celebrity couples, you never know for certain until they actually come outright and say, "Hey, we're dating." Unfortunately, that hasn't happened with J. Law and Aronofsky, so as of right now, it's one big guessing game. (Bustle has reached out to Lawrence and Aronofsky's reps for comment on the reports, but has not yet received a response.)

According to a supposed friend of Lawrence's, who spoke with People in October, "They’ve been hanging out and are casually dating." It seems they connected after working on an untitled project written and directed by Aronofsky, who is known for directing Black Swan (he even scored an Oscar nom for his work), Requiem for a Dream, and The Wrestler. They were also spotted in August having lunch at a cafe, but it's unclear if this is when they reportedly started dating.

Whatever the case, Lawrence and Aronofsky were spotted a couple of times on Wednesday, Nov. 2. First, they were seen sharing a lollipop. In photos obtained by E! News, they were photographed walking in New York City and taking turns licking the lollipop. Per an eyewitness, the Hollywood talents "were laughing and smiling while walking with her dog" and they "look[ed] like a couple." Then, at night, they were spotted kissing and holding hands, as can be seen in photos published by the Daily Mail.

Based on the photos, they sure seem to be having a carefree time, which is exactly what The Hunger Games star is rumored to love so much about Aronofsky. "She struggled when she dated Chris [Martin] and seemed very stressed out," an insider claimed to People in October. “With Darren, it will probably be different. He does not attract attention like Chris does." The source added that what they have "is very low-key."

On Oct. 25, the Daily Mail also shared photos of Lawrence and the director leaving the Commissary restaurant at Los Angeles' The Line Hotel, where they also reportedly dined with some of her closest friends. The Sun even reported on Oct. 16 that Lawrence has supposedly been "regularly sneaking to New York" to visit him and that they "spend every minute apart from each other on the phone."

Really, there is no solid answer as to whether or not they are an actual couple or what is going on exactly, but apparently they don't mind sharing lollipops.
