Taylor Swift Could Pop Into The 2016 CMAs

The 2016 CMAs are here, and in honor of the show’s 50th anniversary, they’re paying homage nearly every important country artist that’s been on the show in the last half-decade. That includes the late Merle Haggard, Randy Travis, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, and Tim McGraw. Speaking of Tim McGraw, you really can’t have a big-time country award show and not mention Taylor Swift (remember her song “Tim McGraw”?). She may be a full-fledged pop star now, but she got her start on the country stage. Is Taylor Swift at the 2016 CMAs?

Swift wrapped up touring for her 1989 album and is living most of 2016 performance-free, hanging with her friends and taking a break from the pop star life. That being said, a report in Us Weekly says that Swift was seen in Nashville (aka where the show is) the day of the 2016 CMAs — does that mean she’s planning to make an appearance? I know that Swift has a home in Nashville, but isn’t it a little peculiar that she’s at that particular home on this particular day? She could be anywhere in the world right now (she is a bazillionaire, so literally, she could be anywhere), and she chose Nashville on the night of the 2016 CMA awards. Interesting.

My guess? It was recently revealed that Swift had written Little Big Town’s newest single, “Better Man” (no secret Swedish name here like she had for “This Is What You Came For,” her song with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris). Little Big Town is set to perform at the 2016 CMAs, so is it farfetched to think that Swift could guest on what is basically her own song? Take a listen below – it totally sounds like a Taylor Swift tune.

I am sure that Little Big Town wouldn’t mind — do you know how many hits that performance would get on YouTube? It’s not confirmed that Taylor Swift will be at the 2016 CMAs, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t want to make a little splash. After all, Beyoncé will be there, too.
