Kanye West made many headlines last week for his comments about Donald Trump and Beyonce during a performance, as well for cancelling the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour dates. In a sad turn of events, People is reporting that Kanye West has been hospitalized for exhaustion. Bustle reached out for comment and did not immediately hear back. According to NBC, West is currently being evaluated at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles and was hospitalized on Monday for "his own health and safety."

According to Variety, the Los Angeles police responded to a "disturbance" call at around 1:20 p.m. on Monday, during which the law enforcement discovered a "medical emergency," leading to West being transported to the hospital by paramedics. This heartbreaking news comes on the heels of tumultuous week for the rapper and fashion designer. Early on Monday, West posted mysterious blurry photos to his usually dormant Instagram account and abruptly canceled the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour. The decision followed West making controversial comments about President-elect Donald Trump, Beyonce, and Jay-Z at his recent concerts and ending his Sacramento show early after performing three songs.

People also reported that West's wife Kim Kardashian-West will not be attending the the Angel Ball in New York City as scheduled. The event would have been her first public appearance since she was robbed in Paris in October. Us Weekly reported that Kardashian-West is with Kanye and by his side at the hospital.
