'Bach' Ben & Lauren May Be Working Things Out

Will they are won’t they? In the case of Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell of Bachelor fame, they’re back on! At the beginning of Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After, these two were planning a television wedding blessed by Chris Harrison. Things went south, though, when Ben decided they were moving too fast and called off the wedding. Not forever, he said, but just so they can, you know, know each other for more than six months. I don’t know what exactly it was at their joint bachelor/bachelorette party, but Ben and Lauren’s Bachelor wedding is back on! Ben and Lauren are getting married, but will they get married on television?

Ben had a minor breakdown in their therapy session because he was worried that he and Lauren wouldn’t have the foundation to survive the bumps and valleys that happen in a marriage. It’s not all roses! Though she wanted to get married, Lauren agreed with Ben’s reasoning. They want to be married forever, so what’s the harm in waiting a little longer? But Ben and Lauren’s friends, disheartened by the fact that the two were waiting on their nuptials, made the cutest video of their courtship (okay, fine, maybe the producers did it) and talked to Ben and Lauren about how relationships are like a journey, and they somehow convinced Ben and Lauren to put the wedding back on! But they did not say if it would be televised, so I don’t know.

Personally, I don’t think it will. I think the hurricane that is planning a television wedding was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Ben — it makes everything a circus, and Ben is so down-home and simple that he may not be able to handle it. Sure, the payday is great, but is it worth the exposure. Ben and Lauren are getting married, but I think it will be a private moment.
