Her Favorite "Mean Girls" Quote Is...

by Lia Beck

When Mean Girls came out ten years ago, none of the stars could have known it would become such a massive and extremely quotable hit. The love of Mean Girls continues to this day which means that even though that actors have had many new gigs since 2004, they're still being asked about the movie. Case in point, Amanda Seyfried revealed her favorite Mean Girls quote while promoting her new film A Million Ways to Die in the West and she chose a good one. Drum roll please...

Amanda Seyfried's favorite quote is, "If you're from Africa, why are you white?"

The line was spoken by Seyfried's own character, Karen Smith. After thinking about the line for a moment, Seyfried says of her character, "God, she’s so dumb. So blissfully ignorant. It's so fun to play that."

Seyfriend went on to say that getting cast in Mean Girls was a huge break for her which make sense seeing as it was her first film. "I feel so lucky to have been in the movie. It was a lucky break for me because it was that or college... I had no idea what I was doing but the lines were written so perfectly, I didn’t have to worry."

Seyfried's Mean Girls costar Rachel McAdams revealed her own favorite line earlier this year, but she wasn't quite as sure of her answer as Seyfriend. McAdams said at the time, "I guess, I like the Toaster Strudel part. I thought that was pretty funny." She's referring to the line from Lacey Chabert's character Gretchen Weiner who says, "I don't think my father, the inventor of Toaster Strudel, would be too pleased with this." Hmm... That part is pretty funny, but I've gotta go with Seyfried on this one.

Watch Amanda Seyfried explain her answer and talk about the possibility of a Mean Girls SNL sketch below. You'll see, she really is confident in her choice of favorite quote.
