Hold Onto Your Pizzas, the 'TMNT' Poster is Here

by Rachel Semigran

Summer may have "officially" started this past weekend with that whole solstice thing, but the summer movie season has been in full swing for some time now. The biggest thing coming to theaters this August is without a doubt the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. Paramount has just released its first in a series of character posters, which are all part of a large marketing campaign that's been buzzing all over the web and is now rolling out in public. Our first glimpse into the new TMNT film is none other than Leonardo, who will be voiced by Johnny Knoxville. By the looks of it, these arent the turtles we all grew up with, and we're not sure how exactly to feel about that.

Not only does Leonardo stand grimacing in the blistering snow...his face is also far more human than turtle and it's downright terrifying. Even though this is a Michael Bay production, it sure looks like the turtles are getting the Christopher Nolan treatment. Here's hoping a story about crime-fighting, pizza-loving turtles doens't turn into some harrowing back story of their mutations and bitter revenge plots.

Even though we've got Leonardo's creepy grin to look at, we're still waiting on the posters for Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Donatello (Jeremy Howard), and Michelangelo (Noel Fisher).

Take a look at the new poster and weep for your childhood:
