Gemma Arterton Has Red Carpet Style Packed Full of Pretty Pinks and Sultry Reds
Fresh off the long Fourth of July holiday weekend, I’m feeling full of American pride and have nothing but endless love for my country. But even though I’m still surfing on a wave of happiness that has a lot to do with patriotic swimsuits and amazing red, white, and blue celeb hairstyles, that sure doesn’t stop me from saying that — as far as celebrity fashion goes — the Brits have been absolutely outshining American style stars on the red carpet this month.
From the it girl–filled Serpentine Gallery Summer Party to the star-packed Wimbledon stands, it seems like every English actress and style star has been bringing out their A-game for the summer season. Naturally, Saturday’s Miu Miu Resort Collection 2015 show in Paris was certainly no exception, with everyone from Alexa Chung to Isla Fisher showing up in brilliant ensembles that looked effortlessly elegant and undeniably summer-chic.
But one British beauty in particular — actress Gemma Arterton — was a standout at the high-fashion show, thanks to her gorgeous strapless Prada dress with its pretty pink hue, flared fit, and crystal-embellished skirt. And it's not the first time the blossoming style star and former Bond girl showed off her love for the girly hue either. In fact, Arterton has been sporting the shade a lot as of late, and I can totally see why: She really knows how to work it.
Hitting a Cannes Film Festival event in a ruffled Emilio Pucci number, Arterton proved that she can stun in deeper shades of pink, too, all while somehow managing to make the hue look sexy — and not at all twee — with a matching clutch, earrings, and pair of strappy heels.
Sticking with the same color family but opting for a blush, nearly nude shade of pink, the actress practically sizzled in her sparkling and curve-hugging sheath dress at the 2014 Sundance London Film and Music Festival.
But if you thought the star only had eyes for soft and sweet shades of pink, think again: She can rock even hotter hues with ease, as was evidenced at the party of the season, the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party. Looking fierce and ultra-feminine in her ruffled-hem, crop-top combo, Arterton took her love of girly hues to a new and sultrier level.
If the British bombshell can look this amazing in just one hue (or, at least, variations of this one hue), then just imagine how much fabulous fashion she can deliver in a range of colors, shapes, and silhouettes — something I'll be waiting anxiously to see as her star power continues to rise.
