This is as Polished as Lana Del Rey Gets

No matter where she goes, drama seems to simply follow brooding singer Lana Del Rey. Whether it’s the old fuss over her pretty terrible breakthrough performance on Saturday Night Live in 2012, her highly controversial comments that seem to somehow always slip out in magazine interviews, or the puzzling and often complicated status of her romantic relationships, the 29-year-old Ultraviolence crooner just can’t manage to stay out of the spotlight for long.

And it’s this last piece of the puzzle that has the singer soaking up the spotlight once again. After rumors began flying around weeks ago that Del Rey is secretly hooking up with or dating James Franco, she may have finally confirmed their relationship — or their involvement, at least — on Wednesday evening by showing up to support the multi-talented actor at the New York City premiere of his latest film, Child of God.

But I have to be honest with you: Even though there are a ton of reasons Del Rey and Franco should be dating each other right now (I mean, hello, could you find a more hipster couple?), I couldn’t care less about the status of their relationship or that they’re making appearances together. What I care about is the fashion, and let me tell you: Del Rey’s style was on point at the Child of God premiere.

Decked out in all white, Del Rey looked more polished, feminine, and sophisticated than I've seen her in quite some time (if not ever). With her midi-length, brocade pencil skirt and coordinating cropped shell, the singer kept her premiere style simple and summertime ready, particularly when paired with casual-cool strappy sandals that added just the slightest hint of color and shine.

And how beautiful does she look from the waist up? With those fluttering eyelashes, sun-kissed cheeks, and flowing dark tresses, Del Rey took her typically hipster-meets-boho style and turned it into something that even the classiest of ladies — I'm talking Zoe Saldana, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Charlize Theron here, people — wouldn't be afraid to step out in on the red carpet.

So if Franco and Del Rey really are shacking up together, I give it my blessing. Because if he's even the slightest bit responsible for this perfectly tasteful, summer-ready look, then she needs to stick with him for the long haul.
