The real-life person behind Alex Vause's character on Orange Is the New Black is writing her own memoir. Her name is Cleary Wolters, and she had a relationship with the real life Piper Kerman who wrote the memoir Orange Is The New Black. Wolter's book will be called Out Of Orange, and it'll be released in May 2015.
I loved the latest season of Orange Is The New Black, but something I missed in it was Alex Vause. Her appearances were all too brief, and I found myself missing Laura Prepon's eyebrows. Though it makes sense for Alex to be phased out on a show that shines so much light on a variety of characters, I'm still fascinated by Alex's background and character, as well as drawn in by Prepon's magnetism.
Though it looks like we'll be seeing more of Alex in Season 3 of OITNB, I wonder whether an Alex spin-off might be a good move for Netflix. There's a lot of spin-off potential for the series, as I always get the feeling that there's so much more to be learned from its characters. Alex has a complicated family life, an international drug dealing career, and a stormy romantic past. And who knows what Wolters' memoir will reveal?
I'd definitely be down to binge watch Out Of Orange.
