Mark Your Calendars For 'AHS: Freak Show'

by Alanna Bennett

Speculation, casting, and general wishing have abounded for the upcoming American Horror Story: Freak Show since its theme was announced in the months following Coven's finale. And now we know Freak Show 's premiere date officially: Mark your calendars for Oct 8. In the meantime, they've also just released a super creepy first teaser.

We've known for a while American Horror Story would be making its return in October — that month, after all, just seems the natural place for a show like that to kick off. And thankfully this date's pretty early in the month, which means we haven't actually got that much longer to wait.

The Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck show will venture to the 1950s freak show circuit this season, featuring Sarah Paulson playing a "two-headed woman," as well as returns from Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Angela Basset, Evan Peters, and more. "World's Smallest Woman" Jyoti Amge will be making her American Horror Story debut alongside newbies (but goodies) like Patti LaBelle, Wes Bentley, and Michael Chiklis. They'll likely all contribute to the population of Juniper, FL, the location — for the purposes of the show — of one the last of the long history of American freak shows.

This will be American Horror Story staple Lange's last season on the show — and purportedly her last go at acting in general — so it's one many fans will want to remember to cherish.

Here's that first teaser. All signs point to it being real this time around:
