One Direction's "Fireproof" Lyrics Seem To Be About Me, Not Weirded Out At All

When I woke up Monday morning, the day looked me square in the face and asked, “Did you know that this week is going to begin on a phenomenal note?” I replied that I did not know. I asked Monday to elaborate, and Monday pointed me in the direction (sorry not sorry) of One Direction’s new song “Fireproof.” THANK YOU, MONDAY!

Is the song good? Duh doye, next question. What is the song about? What do the lyrics meeeeeean? Well, you’re in crazy luck, because I have a gift for analyzing lyrics.

The results of my lyric analysis: I'm 99% sure "Fireproof" is about me/specific moments from my past.

I could be freaked out by this and spend the rest of my existence wondering how the hell the boy band knows about that incredibly vivid dream I had about hang gliding years ago. Or I could write all of it off as mere coincidence. Or I could question my interpretations.

I will do none of the above.

The "Fireproof" Lyrics + My Totally Reasonable Interpretations

I think I'm gonna lose my mind
Something deep inside me I can't give up
I think I'm gonna lose my mind
I roll and I roll 'til I’m out of luck
Yeah, I roll and I roll 'til I’m out of luck
[This is about the time my family played Yahtzee during a power outage and I came in dead last.]

I'm feeling something deep inside
Hotter than a jet stream burning up
[This is about the night I drank an entire carton of pumpkin spice egg nog in a sitting. Though it was delicious, it did a number on my bowels. I'd liken the sensation to airsickness.]
I got a feeling deep inside
It's taking, it's taking all I got
Yeah, it's taking, it's taking all I got
[This is a gentle way to describe what happened in the hours following the pumpkin spice egg nog bonanza.]

'Cause nobody knows you, baby, the way I do
And nobody loves you, baby, the way I do
It's been so long, it’s been so long,
Maybe we're fireproof
'Cause nobody saves me, baby, the way you do
[This is a reference to the 105 degree day I left my makeup bag in my car. By some miracle, the "fireproof" makeup did not melt. Had the makeup melted, a part of me would've melted because I hate replacing makeup.]

I think I’m gonna win this time.
Riding on the wind and I won't give up
I think I'm gonna win this time.
I roll and I roll 'til I change my luck
Yeah, I roll and I roll 'til I change my luck
[This is a reference to a dream I once had about going hang gliding. In my dream, I raced against a sugar glider. I can't remember if I did barrel rolls in the dream, but I did wake up when I rolled out of my bed and onto the floor.]

'Cause nobody knows you, baby, the way I do
And nobody loves you, baby, the way I do
It's been so long, it's been so long,
You must be fireproof
'Cause nobody saves me, baby, the way you do
'Cause nobody knows you baby the way I do
And nobody loves you baby the way I do
It's been so long, it's been so long
Maybe we're fireproof
'Cause nobody saves me, baby, the way you do
[Another shout-out to my "fireproof" makeup and the relationship we have. Nobody saves me like that BB cream or that gel eyeliner, and nobody knows or loves my makeup collection the way I do.]

It's so cool to hear the One Direction guys sing the story of my liiiiiiiiiife:
