Chloe Sevigny + Opening Ceremony = WIN

by Rosie Narasaki

I have to admit, I'm not the most familiar with Chloë Sevigny's work — outside of her stint as Danny's ex-wife on The Mindy Project and her star turn as the kooky book store girl from Louie, that is. Even so, I'm a long-standing fan of her personal style: she has such a distinct style POV that you know she's not just wearing what people are telling her to wear — not that there's anything wrong with that... I guess what I'm trying to say is, she seems to genuinely love clothes, and that it shows — especially in the new Opening Ceremony x Chloë Sevigny collaboration.

Gee, first Kiko Mizuhara, now Sevigny? Opening Ceremony is on a total roll! The collection definitely has her signature stamp: Designed for the consummate cool girl, it features masculine elements paired seamlessly with ultra-feminine flair. That makes sense, because she reportedly drew inspiration from both womenswear and menswear of Heathers (there's even a trenchcoat from the collection nicknamed "The Christian Slater").

I don't know how it manages to be so many things at once, but it does — the collection ran the gamut from full-skirted LWD with fluttery sleeves (paired with a baseball cap, of course) to pinstriped overalls. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the best looks (I apologize for the repeats)!

Ultra-Feminine

These looks take on some of Chloe's trademark girliness-with-an-edge. I'm especially loving the pinafore... and the headwear is to die for.

Pinstripes

Pinstripes never looked this cool. (Also, note to self: white sandals with giant bows look amazing with menswear-inspired pieces).

The Christian Slater (!!!)

Okay, that coat on the right has to be the Christian Slater coat, right?
