Taylor Swift Just Let Her NYC Fans Down

by Alyse Whitney

Newly-crowned pop princess Taylor Swift just announced her huge 1989 world tour, but not everyone can get excited. Though she sings a love song to NYC in "Welcome to New York" and recently became the city's first welcome ambassador for tourism, she's skipping out on the Big Apple. Yep, the closest you'll get to T. Swift on this tour is if you go to New Jersey. Baby, now we got bad blood.

Considering that Swift's tour doesn't kick off until next May and she is playing Jingle Ball in NYC this December, she could just be planning something bigger for her new favorite city. Could it be a five-night residency at Madison Square Garden or the Barclays Center? Or maybe her playing every single venue in NYC, making Swifties "Shake It Off" from one location to the next? Either could happen. Maybe she'll just open her own cat-friendly pop-up venue and play there for a week. All I know is that Beyoncé and Jay Z would never do this to us.

In other Swift-related tour news, it is of note that she and Harry Styles won't be in the same cities at the same time next year, but they will be touring at the same time. If they cross paths, she'll have material for a third album by summer's end.
