The Golden Globes Red Carpet Is Not To Be Missed

by Rosie Narasaki

Ah, the age-old question: "Can you stream [blank] online?" These days, the answer is "yes" about 90 percent of the time; with the unfortunate exception of tricky, overseas hits I may or may not be obsessed with, like Doctor Who (I still haven't watched the annual Christmas special, by the way). Generally, it's usually pretty easy to find a reliable (and legal) live stream — and luckily that's true in this case, as you can watch the Golden Globes red carpet online. The show has an easily-accessible stream that fashion aficionados will be able to keep up with in real time.

Thank goodness — because what would we do without Jennifer Lawrence in a Dior ball gown? Lupita Nyong'o in her red caped number? Well, those two may not be nominated this year, but best actress nominee Felicity Jones is sure to serve up some major style (she might even wear a poofy Dior, a la Ms. Lawrence), while Rosamund Pike will somehow manage to simultaneously be gorgeously patrician and goofily adorable. And don't even get me started on Keira Knightley (who can kind of do no sartorial wrong, in my book). It's going to be a fashionable year, so thank goodness we can buckle up, grab some popcorn, and settle in for some good live streams.

So, where can you find these streams? Here are a few options:

E! Online Is a Good Bet

Live! From the Red Carpet (hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic) is always a good bet for spot-on red carpet coverage — it's home of the infamous Mani Cam, after all (let's hope someone tries to flip it off again this year, a la Elisabeth Moss). It's easy and straightforward to stream — just head on over to E! Online, where the red carpet coverage will be starting promptly at 5:55 p.m. EST.

Check Out NBC

NBC will also be airing its own Golden Globes pre-show (The Golden Globes Arrivals Special), starting after Live! From the Red Carpet at 7 p.m. EST. It's hosted by the cast of The Today Show (Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales, and Carson Daly) and will be available to watch in real time on NBC's website.

UStream Is a Great Backup

If NBC and/or E! Online aren't working out for you, chances are one of UStream's many users will have set up a live broadcast on the site.

So, there you have it — TV or no TV, rain or shine, you'll be able to get your red carpet ya-yas somewhere. And if worst comes to worst? There's always Twitter.
