Selena Gomez's "Rachel" Haircut Didn't Last Long

by Alexa Tucker

Well, that cut lasted about as long as a tic tac. Before we even had time to fully discuss Selena Gomez's new "Rachel" hairstyle, she'd already changed it. After debuting a chop inspired by Jennifer Aniston's Friends character, Selena wore long extensions to the annual Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday. Ah, the lives of the young and privileged: hate your haircut? Extensions, baby. (Sadly, the rest of us are stuck suffering through it for three to six months.)

To be honest, I can't blame her, though — as a recent accidental recipient of the "Rachel" myself (ugh, it hurts to remind myself,) I can attest to the fact that it is not a great cut. Iconic as it is, it's 2015, and that style has no business being here. Selena was obviously still stunning with the '90s layered bob, but if you aren't loving your new hair and you can get extensions on a whim, I say you do you, girl. More power to you — I know I would.

Although poor Selena left the Vanity Fair party looking a little rough around the edges (don't worry, we've all been there,) at least her hair looked the way she wanted it to.
